Every photo, video, and cover has his face blurred or hidden. He addressed it directly in his first interview — he wanted to protect people in his life who had other things going on: school, legal exposure, lives outside rap. The mask is practical as much as it is aesthetic.

Grew up in Virginia, worked a welding job until summer 2024, then quit. Six months later he had a sold-out LA show with over a thousand people in the room. The internet did most of that work.

The Joeyy feature on "IM NOT GOD BUT I WISH I WAS" in 2022 was the underground handshake. From there: Lil Fittedcap on production, Sematary for a Halloween collab, Cole Bennett executive producing the "2016LYFE" video. Each one opened a different pocket of the internet.

THE COMEUP sets up the world. THE PEAK is where the audience arrived. THE COMEDOWN is the aftermath — slower, darker, asking what it means when the moment starts to pass. Three albums, two years, one consistent mask.

Fairfieldd is his secondary alias — guitar-based beats, emo register, face actually visible in the videos. He started it in 2022, same year as SMOKESHOP. It sits in Lil Peep territory rather than cloud rap. Different name, different sound, same person.

The stage name came from his Steam gamertag — his previous one was SwisherSmoker420. The "2016" part is a timestamp and a mood: it marks the era before everything moved fast. His music sounds exactly like that year remembered through a haze.
